Garlic Business Card

August 3, 2011

I have a friend who is starting a garlic business: selling the garlic and scapes that she grows on her urban property. She asked me to do a business card for her and wanted a hand made and woodcut feel to her card. The name of her business is Blue House Garlic.
I started by carving 3 stamps: one of the garlic with the scape and two different versions of the house.

Next, I printed the three pieces and scanned them into the computer. She ended up liking the house with the most carved marks.

Then I had the fun job of adding color and playing with scale. I also added a border. So far so good..she likes it but still would like to make a few changes. Her contact info will be on the back of the card.

I forgot you told me you were putting this up. Still haven’t gotten the cards made, but it printed up nicely for labels. Thanks Jeanne!
