Stars and Stripes

The next Spoonflower contest is titled Stars and Stripes and I decided to attempt an entry. In my sketchbook I found this drawing:

I decided to create a pattern using those stars and clouds and then add some stripes.
( the stripes connect the clouds together)
I came up with this:

and then I decided to make this(no stars and stripes) with suns and moons:

And then there’s the one I started and never finished….first the initial drawings:
