Color

I received A Field Guide to Fabric Design by Kimberly Kight of Trueup.net for a Christmas present and have really enjoyed reading it. I just finished the chapter on color and it got me thinking of how I mix color when I’m printing woodblocks. I often mix the color then grab a bit of it onto a putty knife and create a “drawdown” by spreading the ink onto a scrap of paper. It gives me an idea of how the ink will print. I’ve collected a lot of these color samples and love the way they look together:
